Description
This Portuguese Chestnut Honey has been sail-shipped back to the Netherlands.
It comes from the region of Tras-os-Montes, a magnificent location that has always had strong traditions linked to beekeeping. With a climate and soil that are conducive to the growth and development of a wide variety of vegetation, Éme Honey is unique in its caracteristics.
The chestnut tree is one of the most characteristic trees of the Northeast of Trás-os-Montes. This region is home to one of the largest stands of chestnut trees in the Iberian Peninsula, at an altitude of around 800 metres, with a short flowering period (June and July). The nectar from the chestnut flower produces a honey with a dark hue, an intense and slightly woody aroma and flavour. Its consistency is also firmer.
If you are looking for other types of Sailed Éme Honey, Rosemary and Grove flavors are also available on our webshop!
