Tres Hombres Rum Ed. 69 La Palma Suave

 This Tres Hombres Rum Ed. 69 is a “ron tradicional” made by the Aldea distillery in La Palma, Canary Islands. It is an old, soft, brown rum that has been aged on the island for 17 years. 

Origin and distillation

The distillation was carried out with care by the Aldea distillery. The sugar cane at the origin of this rum is produced on Aldea's own fields. 

This brown rum was picked up in 2024 by the sailing freighter Tres Hombres after 17 years of maturation. The rum made its journey by sea in Pineau des Charentes and Cognac barrels. Then, another 5 months later, the ship arrived in Amsterdam. With the ship constantly moving due to the waves, the Pineau des Charentes and Cognac barrels have intensified the flavor of the rum for an unforgettable Tres Hombres finish!

What does “ron tradicional” mean?

"Ron tradicional" is produced on the island of La Palma. The rum is made from locally grown sugarcane that is pressed into sugarcane syrup called "guarapo". This is fermented in the distillery of Ron Aldea and then distilled.

Tasting notes

Rich aromas of vanilla, chocolate, and oak lead to a sweet, fruity palate with notes of figs and warm vanilla. The medium-long finish is complex, with a subtle hint of smokiness.

The drawings on the labels of our 2025 rum editions were made by a Tres Hombres crew member.

Bottling

Last but not least, this rum was bottled at Stokerij Amsterdam with the help of the Tres Hombres Team.

Each bottle of rum is sealed with a natural cork which is colored with beeswax. This makes the origin of the rum easy to recognize by the color of the bottle. To achieve this result, the wax is mixed with color pigments which are milled from natural raw materials in a traditional windmill in Zaandam, the Netherlands.
